Molymet Belgium ranks among the top 15% of the most sustainable companies according to EcoVadis

Sustainable business practices have been firmly embedded in Molymet Belgium’s operations for many years. These efforts have now been reaffirmed by an independent assessment: Molymet Belgium has been awarded a silver EcoVadis medal with a score of 77 out of 100. This places us amongst the top 15% of all organisations assessed worldwide. This recognition is the result of the daily commitment of all our employees, who help to embed sustainability, safety and quality into their work.

What is EcoVadis?

EcoVadis is an internationally recognised assessment platform that evaluates organisations on their performance in the areas of sustainability and corporate social responsibility. The assessment is based on four key themes: (1) the environment, (2) labour practices and human rights, (3) ethics, and (4) responsible supply chain management. An increasing number of customers and partners are using EcoVadis as a benchmark to objectively assess a company’s approach to sustainability. A strong score therefore not only recognises the efforts made, but also serves as proof of reliability and transparency.

A strong performance across the board

Our results are among the strongest in our sector and demonstrate that sustainability is deeply embedded within Molymet Belgium. For instance, we rank in the top 3 per cent for sustainable procurement, the top 5 per cent for ethics, the top 11 per cent for the environment, and the top 9 per cent for working conditions and human rights. This score reflects the daily efforts of all our employees and our ongoing focus on safe processes, responsible use of raw materials, efficient production methods and sustainable partnerships throughout the entire value chain.

Sustainability in practice

At Molymet Belgium, sustainability goes beyond figures and reports. It is a way of working that is evident throughout our entire organisation, day in, day out. This is reflected, amongst other things, in investments in environmental and energy performance, a strong focus on health and safety at work, transparency in our business operations, and close collaboration with suppliers and partners. In addition, we remain committed to the recovery of waste streams and the efficient use of raw materials, with circularity as a key guiding principle.

A solid foundation of certifications

The EcoVadis accreditation does not stand alone. It builds on a strong foundation of international standards and certifications that have guided our operations for many years. For example, we hold ISO 9001 certification for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. In addition, we have also achieved MolyMark certification, a sector-specific accreditation that confirms that we produce molybdenum in a responsible manner.
Together, these certifications form a strong foundation for our sustainability ambitions and demonstrate that quality, safety, the environment and corporate social responsibility are inextricably linked.

Continuous improvement

We are extremely proud of our EcoVadis silver medal. This recognition reaffirms our ambition not only to supply high-quality products, but also to be a reliable, transparent and responsible partner to our customers, employees, suppliers and society.
At the same time, we do not see this achievement as a final destination, but as an incentive to further realise our sustainability ambitions. After all, sustainability is not a one-off effort, but a continuous process of learning, improving and thinking ahead.
